An hour lesson on Spanish Speaking role play for Theme 2, unit Holidays.
Includes one Foundation and two Higher role plays and build-up material to prepare answers for each of them.
¿Qué canción es? is a great activity to give your year 11 classes a break and have some fun competing in teams of 2-4 against other pupils in the classroom.
The aim of the game is to get as many points as possible by listening to the opposite team and translate the lyrics they read out loud in Spanish into English, so that your team guesses the song , which originally is in English language! There can be 5, 10 or 15 different rounds.
Each song has an icon with 3, 2 or 1 points to indicate how many points to award. 0 points awarded if no guess.
If students who read the card to the other team do not know the song, they can put it back in the deck.
Print the tally and then the different slides in card. It is best if two slides are printed on one sheet of paper.
¡Que lo paséis bien!
A general conversation lesson, which emphasises on sentence structure and time phrases with (some) reflexive verbs.

Mark scheme and reflection time after the activities.

This is a creative activity that I am planning to do with my French and Spanish classes across KS3 and KS4 as a whole school event. It should not take longer than 30 minutes during a regular lesson.
Pupils choose some sentences from the slide in TL (following numbers 1-5), then copy them out with the appropriate connectives, with a friend in mind. Then they can decorate the cards.
Teacher is to collect the cards and keep them until the morning of 14th of February, when pupils will receive cards during tutor time.
A Spanish GCSE 9-1 Speaking lesson (2 or 3 sessions) to work on General Conversation on Spanish Festivals with the help of some engaging videos (in English).
Please let me know how it went for your classes!
This lesson is based in basic verbs that GCSE candidates should know from KS3 and how to use them best to add complexity to their work (modal verbs, third person) and make up for any gaps in understanding conjugations in the past (solía + infinitive), present (suelo + infinitive) and future tense (voy a + infinitve).
The pdf file is thought of as a reference resource and it is a list taken from my Quizlet folder for my GCSE class. Feel free to explore my sets on Quizlet, too.
The lesson is based on 20 minutes on Quizlet, translation and some listening at the end.
Feel free to adapt! I would be grateful if you let me know how it went with your class!
Fun lesson for groups who love singing.
The aim is to learn basic vocabulary on Christmas decorations in Spanish, but also have fun when singing the lyrics of this version of Mariah Carey’s super famous ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ in Spanish.
