A very comprehensive revision and activity booklet aimed at the 2009 GCSE Students that I have put together. It contains all the GCSE topics with revision activities as well as two annexes: one for summer activities, one for grammar explanation. Message me in case of typos. I have added the word document versions of each part (the formatting might be off as it has been created on Pages on an Apple Mac).

A challenging lesson focussed on a song that is currently number 1 in the French charts. Starter: - Match the endings to the right pronoun Main: - Conjugate the infinitives in (taken from the lyrics) - Listen to the song and fill in the gap (using the verbs just seen) – don’t show the video as it is the lyrics video (it will show the answer) - Unjumble the key words (they can be found in the lyrics). Plenary: - Group discussion: what is the main theme of the song (answer: b. racism – although the other answers are also acceptable)

Based on the Sochi 2014 Olympics. A lesson and based on Winter Olympic sports and favourite sports. For the intro of vocabulary, just move the boxes to see the pictures and use the rubber to uncover the text just underneath.

A lesson based on reading skills ranging from level 2 to level 4, based on the Marie-Antoinette Facebook page attached. The starter is level descrption match-up and the plenary is a classic encore une fois. Full detailed lesson plan is included. Lesson was observed by HoD and SST and rated Outstanding.

A lesson to introduce rooms of the house in French. This can be used in conjunction with Expo 1 (module 3, unit 2 - ma maison) or Metro 1 (module 5, unit 3 - le plan de ma maison). Based on Studio 1 Module 1. This presentation is used so that students are able to talk about their favourite artist (physical descriptions, character, likes/dislikes...). Most videos that are embedded are home-made (apart from the Rihanna one). I have also included a powerpoint to make it easier to change the content of the smartboard (just copy and paste after).

A presentation for describing yourself and other people. It might not be ease to use (flash embedded content) but all you have to do is press the play button until the animation stops and press play again and so. I am working on a solution so that it can play more easily...

Based on Studio 1 Module 1. Introduction of personal identity and adjectival agreement with some intensifiers. It can be used with the book or as a stand-alone lesson. All videos (for the listening) are home-made and embedded.

This is ideal for 2 lessons. This can be used with Studio 1 or as a standalone resource. All the listening are home-made embedded videos (using Xtranormal). All the reading materials are included as Powerpoint presentations.

A Smartboard presentation on likes and dislikes that uses a lot of cognates which is great for first lesson for year 7. This is ideal for 2 lessons with the first one focusing on the lexis while the other focuses on the definite articles. This can be used with Studio 1 or as a standalone resource. All the listening are home-made embedded videos (using Xtranormal). All the reading materials are included as Powerpoint presentations.

PowerPoint version for visual support that we have used for a year 7 Gifted and Talented French day along with the updated booklet. I have also added a task that they had to complete at the end of the day. This can be used as a standalone day or as a series of lessons on to revise and practice school.

A lesson on fashion and clothes. The starter asks students to find antonyms to adjectives. it is followed by an introduction of vocabulary (pictures and words can be revealed using the rubbed). Then, there is a listening comprehension (as a video, embedded). Followed by a reading comprehension based on a VOGUE article of Lady Gaga's fashion faux-pas (worksheet). The plenary is an 'Encore une fois' acitivity. ALL activities include extension. This lesson was rated as outstanding by both an Advanced Skills Teacher and an Excellent Teacher.

Based on the London 2012 Olympics. A series of lessons and activities based on Olympic sports and favourite sports. The activities can be quite challenging but are very engaging. NB: I am aware there is a slight problem with the answers on the slide for the reading grid and I am working on it to fix it.

A lesson based on the the evolution of the role of women at home and sexism in society. It includes two listening activities - Le sexisme dans les livres pour enfants and les garcons qui jouent a la poupée. Activities come from various places but have been adapted to the needs of my group. A worksheet is a support for all the activities in the presentation.
