A help sheet and task for Year 7 pupils (or KS2) on how to create a poster/information sheet. Students are given the task of searching a children's E-Safety website and selecting the most relevant information to include on their posters. The advice sheet explains the key icons that can be found on the Home ribbon, which students may use to help their posters stand out. More able students will be able to add images to their documents.

A basic word processing task for students who are being introduced to Microsoft Word or for those taking national qualifications that require typing accuracy. Students have to write out a passage of text before formatting it using a set of instructions. Students can be extended by encouraging them to write formatting instructions for their partner or for the rest of the class.

This resource is relevant to the new AQA GCSE specification on Restoration England, 1660-1685; however, it could be adapted for KS3 or A Level. Using the glossary from the text book (and wider understanding) students will need to identify the definitions of 10 key words at a time. These quizzes would be great as a lesson started every 3-4 weeks as new terms are introduced. A larger test could then be put together towards the end of the unit to ensure that students are familiar. I would encourage students to go away and find the definitions for themselves using the text book/internet, as this would make a great homework activity.

Summary handout detailing the causes, events and results of the Third Dutch War. This is one of the tricky topics within the new AQA GCSE unit, Restoration England: 1660-1685. This one-sided handout will benefit those students who find the text book difficult to understand and it would be a great resource to have handy for revision.

Students are given a range of 1 mark knowledge questions on dates/names/events/definitions associated with the Tudors, English Reformation and the Spanish Armada. This form of assessment would be in addition to knowledge and source essays to practise the skills required for GCSE. Also included is a sheet with answers to all of the questions. The test is 35 questions long (35 marks).

An end of topic test on Ecosystems. Designed to coincide with the Geog.1 unit, however I'm confident that it can be easily tweaked to suit any unit on ecosystems. A challenging worksheet focusing on 'Earth's Story' and what order things first appeared on Earth. This was used as an introductory lesson in Year 7 Geography; however, it could certainly be incorporated into Science SOW on Evolution, or as an introductory History lesson on chronology! The first half of the worksheet is relatively straightforward; however, some students may need supporting with the final question (Earth's story as a 24hr clock) as it is a tricky concept for some to get their heads around.

This resource is relevant to the new AQA GCSE specification on Restoration England, 1660-1685; however, it could be adapted for KS3 or A Level. Using a map of the spread of the plague (WikiCommons), students will need to explain its impact. Teachers are encouraged to supply students with further information on the various boroughs of London (e.g. the worst hit locations were also the locations where the lower classes lived, and vice versa). Students should be making the link between housing/wealth and infection. This would be a useful resource as part of a much wider topic on the plague, including its causes and treatment.

This resource is intended for use with the new AQA GCSE unit: Restoration England, 1660-1685. Included are two sample mock exams that I have put together. I have not included questions on the Historical Site as this will change with each year; however, I have created two interpretation questions on the Fire and Plague that fit the model used by AQA. These mock exams can be used after one Half Term's worth of work. There is no coverage of Wars, Trade or Restoration Culture - these will need to be assessed towards the end of the course.

This is a simple worksheet for use within KS3 topics covering science, medicine or the Age of Enlightenment. Students are given a list of 18th Century scientific/medical discoveries and must answer 4 questions based on the information that they are given. This would be useful as a starter activity for the topic or as a piece of homework; an extension task could be to have students research a particular discovery or find other 18th Century discoveries.

A basic file management task for KS2/KS3. Students have to follow a set of instructions to create/rename/delete folders. They can then be extended by encouraging them to copy/move folders around. These skills are essential in the first few weeks of term so that students keep their work areas tidy. The resource will need to be edited slightly to instruct students to create the folders in their relevant work areas.

A short 20-mark assessment for the CIE iGCSE ICT specification. All questions focus on Unit 5, ICT and Employment and have been included on past CIE papers (to which the questions are credited). This would be a perfect resource for an end of unit assessment to test students' knowledge; it could also be used for revision in the lead up to the exam. Mark schemes for the questions can be found on the CIE website; however, all of the questions are straight forward enough to be marked by a knowledgeable teacher.

A checklist of skills for the OCR CLAiT qualification (Unit 5 - Creating an e-Presentation). Students have to read through each skill and tick whether they can complete it or not. They can use the notes section to write tips to themselves or can draw the relevant buttons that need to be clicked on to complete each task.

Included is an activity, based on the content from the textbook, on industrial diseases of the 19th and 20th centuries. Students are required to complete the worksheet and answer the questions. This worksheet is intended to supplement wider work on medicine and public health during the Industrial Revolution.
