Celebrate World Space Week this October (UK) with your classes or tutor groups with this resource bundle which is a combination of my 50x question quiz, Crossword puzzle (much of the content is covered in the quiz) and Wordsearch. These resources are themed around the event and all three resources come complete with answers. This resource for World Space Week quiz created on Microsoft Powerpoint suitable for KS3 and KS4 secondary students. Quiz There are 50 multiple choice questions in this quiz covering facts and knowledge about space and the solar system, picture matching with keywords, spacial ‘firsts’ and astro achievements as well as space in music, tv and film! The answers are then to be shared as a class either by going through each question (ensure you are in present mode for the correct answer to colour green) for students to peer or self mark. You could alternatively use the quick answer quiz sheet variation of this quiz if you would prefer to speed things up! Crossword Also included is an 18x question crossword complete with answers. Most of the answers to questions within the crossword worksheet are covered in the Quiz so I would recommend the quiz is completed first! The answers to the crossword make up the wordbank students will need to complete the wordsearch activity! Wordsearch Finally, there are 3x worksheets included in this resource - all have the same words to find. 2 wordsearches do not have a wordbank as students need to first complete the crossword puzzle and use the answers from the crossword to discover which words to find in the wordsearch. These are differentiated as Medium and Hard in the files. There is an additional wordsearch with a wordbank if you wish for students to complete the wordsearch as a standalone activity. Industrial Revolution Inventions

This lesson has been created for KS3 students and covers life in inventions of new technology for the textiles industry in the Industrial Revolution. The purpose of the lesson is to get students to investigate new technologies invented to develop the textile industry from the domestic industry through to the factory industry in the 18th Century. Student are then to consider the significance of each invention and in what way they sped up the Industrial Revolution. The lesson offers an opportunity for group work when exploring the different inventions and the inventors developed during the 18th Century. Youtube video links have been offered under each handout slide if you choose to create QR codes linked to the URLs so that students can view each invention working. Exam technique is also practiced in this lesson in the format of a 4 mark question. All accompanying resources are included in Microsoft Powerpoint format and suggested learning outcomes provided with space for you to add your own accompanying grades. I have taught this lesson to all Y7, Y8 and Y9 depending on where Industrial Revolution falls in the schemes of work. I really hope you enjoy teaching this lesson as much as I do!

This lesson has been devised for the purpose of giving the new Y6's on transition week a taste of the model and structure of history lessons. There is plenty emphasis on engagement and routine. AFL activities are incorporated into the lesson as are carousel activities, people bingo, sound clips and video links for engaging starters. Resources are included at the bottom of the powerpoint and a set of teacher instructions are also included at the top. Also the instructions & resources for creating your witch tabards are included. The lesson follows the 4 part lesson strategy and incorporates familiar icons used on all my lessons which I have embedded within all department lessons. Students engage in the lessons much more as they appear tidier, more fun and engaging.

Enclosed in the bundle is a Jack the Ripper mini scheme of work (4 lessons). Next year I am intending to enhance this and make it into 6 lessons (jacks letters & source skills). Exam technique practiced is for the new spec (9 - 1) GCSE, AQA Paper 1 style questions. Lessons include the following: Lesson 1 - Introduction/Keywords/Literacy focus Lesson 2: Victim profiles Lesson 3: Suspects & exam technique 12 mark Lesson 4: Why couldn’t JTR be caught & exam technique 8 mark All resources are produced to a high quality and attention to detail has been paid. A well presented lesson on the 1066 Battle of Hastings in the run up to the penultimate lesson of the Battle of Hastings created for KS3 history students on Microsoft Powerpoint A little about the lesson Students explore the Battle of Hastings between two of the contenders Harold Godwinson and Duke William of Normandy. Students uncover the sequence of events during the battle, they encounter a codebreaker task and look at some of the imagery of the Bayeux tapestry. Students consider advantages and disadvantages of each army throughout the lesson. Students then apply their learning to a written exam technique task. Students are guided into answering an exam style question (AQA 8 mark question) with scaffolded sentence and a mark scheme for self assessment to help them begin to understand the requirements for GCSE style questions from an early stage. This can easily be tweaked, however, to tailor the resource to your exam board. Whats included? A whole 1 hour lesson powerpoint is included (there are teacher notes also under some slides). Student worksheets/resources are included in hidden slides in the relevant points of the presentation and also as an additional Powerpoint for ease of printing. Homework, Learning Objectives and outcomes have also been completed in this resource, however, they can easily be tweaked to suit the needs and ability of your classes. It is very likely this lesson will take beyond an hour to complete depending on the ability of the class and how long is spent on each task.
