What is SKE for Teachers?

Available in 10 shortage subjects (biology, chemistry, computing, English, French, geography, German, mathematics, physics and Spanish), our SKE courses will help your teachers gain subject confidence, develop ideas and techniques to use in the classroom, and put this knowledge into context through lesson planning assignments.

Fill your classrooms with subject specialists

  • Increase the number of subject specialists at your school without having to recruit additional staff.

  • Improve teachers’ subject knowledge and understanding.

  • Help teachers discover new styles of teaching and ways to deliver subjects in the classroom.

  • Increase CPD opportunities for your staff.

Develop staff while they continue to teach at your school

  • Delivered 100% online, our SKE for Teachers courses are flexible enough to fit around your teacher's timetable and other commitments. They have up to a year to complete the course.

  • For the final task your teacher will need to be able to plan and teach two lessons in their subject, gain feedback from pupils and write a self-reflected, detailed evaluation of their lessons.

Thoughts from our schools

  • The skills, subject knowledge and confidence the course has given, has improved my practice overall. It is such an honour to be able to see students of all abilities reach different milestones in their learning because of our input as teachers.
