Values and vision

Oeiras International School, wants all students to feel valued and cared and promotes a respectful and welcoming learning community for all. The all-through school holds the core values of integrity, respect, commitment, service, growth, excellence and personal challenge. It is the aim of the school that students develop as inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young adults. The Oeiras all-through school encourages pupils to be positive and active citizens, contributing their unique skills, talents and knowledge to the local and wider community. Students are taught to be open minded and accepting of others, regardless of their culture, differences or point of view. They are also expected to show empathy and compassion towards each other, in particular those in need. The school works to ensure that students are guided and nurtured by dedicated teaching staff, helping individuals reach their full potential across the curriculum. Community is at the heart of the school and parents, teachers and students are expected to work together for the best possible outcome for all. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered to students, allowing for them to experience new activities and opportunities outside the classroom. These include the Duke of Edinburgh Award, sports clubs and initiatives such as the School Council, where leadership and teamwork skills are practiced.
