This is a KS4 resource focussing on the development of Shelia in An Inspector Calls. The PPT comes embedded with all of the printouts on slides at the end. This lesson could be split into two as there is a lot of content. All you need is the text!

Lesson includes:

* Date, title and do now activity page
* Tiered learning objectives that increase in difficulty using Blooms vocabulary.
* Starter activity exploring women in 1912, also explores Priestley's views on women.
* Class reading of relevant pages for the lesson. (2 pages)
* Comparison chart with quotes that compare Sheila's presentation at the start of the play to the end.
* Class discussion questions linked to Sheila's development.
* Shelia quote explosion for detailed analysis.
* Main task (STRUGGLE TIME - in my class, this is opportunity for pupils to work silently and independently without any help. This forces pupils to think deeply and practice struggling). This is an assessment style question with success criteria (based on AQA AOs), and sentence starters for less able.
Plenary - Thinking questions to consolidate learning.
