AN INTRODUCTION TO THE SAVANNA LANDS - FOCUS ON NORTHERN AUSTRALIA

This is an introductory unit on the savanna land environments. It can stand alone. It can also for the first in a series of units which focus on the SAVANNA LAND ECOSYSTEM. Although this was originally designed for the Australian curriculum areas it does have wider significance. This unit has been reworked so that the pages will be more easily viewed. In addition the attachments provide an opportunity for students to observe aspects of the wet/dry environment on screen and by discussion decide how the photographs can be matched to the seasons shown in the climate graph and on the monsoon mechanism map on the previous page. This unit is designed with lower-middle Secondary levels in mind. You can link this unit with other units prepared on the Savanna Lands.
