A saildrone is about to embark on an unusual 22,000 km circumnavigation of Antarctica. I featured the story in a recent weekly geography quiz, students were fascinated by the journey, so I put together this creative writing activity as an extension task and nice cross curricular link. It includes 6 questions.
The poem provides a fun cross-curricular link between Geography and English for KS2/KS3, with opportunities to explore personification, descriptive language and creative writing from the saildrone’s perspective.
The resource is presented in a dyslexia-friendly format.
