Flexible 27.5 Hour Teaching Pack | Can Support 2 ASDAN Credits
This resource pack supports delivery of the ASDAN Gardening Short Course – Module 1 A Tasks, covering 1A1 to 1A11.
It provides 27.5 hours of structured lesson content, allowing centres and teachers to choose and adapt at least 20 hours for ASDAN 2 credit accreditation, depending on how they deliver the course.
It has been designed for settings where flexibility and practical delivery are important, such as SEND, alternative provision, post-16 or vocational groups.

This pack contains resources for all 11 A tasks:
1A1 – Visit to a garden centre & poster task
1A2 – Parts of a flower & fertilisation process
1A3 – Identifying common weeds
1A4 – Annual vs perennial plants
1A5 – Growing in difficult areas
1A6 – Growing grass & measuring growth
1A7 – Looking after lawns
1A8 – Plants for small garden ponds
1A9 – Pruning plants
1A10 – Harmful garden plants & safety
1A11 – Local gardens research & display
Each task includes:
- Slide presentations
- Printable worksheets
- Planning support
- Opportunities for evidence collection (photos, posters, reports, logs)
Worksheets and activities can be spread over multiple sessions where needed, depending on your learners and timetable.
Time & Structure
Total lesson time: approximately 27.5 hours
Designed so teachers can select at least 20 hours of delivery for ASDAN’s 2 credit requirement
Worksheets and practical tasks can be completed across more than one session
Suitable for both weekly delivery or block teaching
