An excellent lesson that I spent a lot of time preparing. It is specifically designed for the new AQA 9-1 Science/Physics course, but can be adapted for any specification.

It covers fission reactions, how they are used to generate electricity, and how they are controlled.

It includes:
A full, detailed PowerPoint presentation that can be taught from.
A video that explains nuclear fission.
Diagrams of uranium fission for students to annotate.
Worksheet for students to label a nuclear reactor.
Nuclear equation task.

Check out my other lessons for the Atomic Structure chapter.
