What is a Balanced Chemical Equation and why bother Balancing them?

This is the the First in my series of Chemistry Calculation workshops. All designed as ‘bite-sized’ powerpoint files. These focus on step by step guidance on how to do calculations but include an introduction to any Chemical idea and equations required to do calculations.
The Amount of Substance Workshop is in four parts, this second part deals with the idea of ‘Balanced Chemical Equations’, focusing on why it is important in Chemistry.
The previous worshop was about the mole and its importance as a unit of substance.
The remaining parts include; Calculating Moles and applying these skills to calculate reacting masses, limiting reagents, % yield, atom economy, titration results and water of crystallisation.
These workshops cover material in both GCSE and A level Chemistry.
