These questions are for a four-minute video, one of a set of five. This sheet is CHEAPER if you get them all in the bundle. I’ve only listed the sheets separately in order to make the bundle. See the bundle here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12814636

The BBC says “We meet the philosopher Arete of Cyrene, who explains how so many aspects of Ancient Greek civilisation are still relevant to us today. The topics she covers includes architecture, philosophy, science, mathematics, medicine and democracy.

Arete indicates how many of the most important buildings in the present day copy the features of Ancient Greek architecture. She shows how Ancient Greek letters and symbols have been adopted by modern science; how Ancient Greek astronomers were the first to postulate that the Earth moves around the sun; how Hippocrates was the first medic to presume that illness came from natural causes.”

Differentiated! Both versions look very similar, but “B” version has subtle clues. 17 questions for the 4-minute film. .doc and .pdf of all sheets, link to video on all sheets. Answer sheet. Very easy to mark.

The BBC KS2 Class Clips Ancient Greece web-page has the video and extensive teachers’ notes, suggesting further work.

Please check that you can access the video before you download these sheets. All the links work when I upload. If my links no longer work, the videos may still be found elsewhere on YouTube, BBC Teach etc.
