Here we demonstrate population sampling techniques by investigating whether the number of buttercups in our chosen field differs from the top of the hill to the bottom. We took samples from two 10m x 10m plots and, using quadrats, recorded the number of buttercups. We also measured light intensity, air temperature, humidity, wind velocity and took soil samples.
