Written to support Edexcel combined science- physics- conservation of energy, but will be appropriate for any exam board.
A revision pack that students can complete independently, allowing the teacher to circulate the room and support as and where required. Small teacher led section to cover key or difficult areas.
My students have really loved this format of revision. They like the independent nature of the task and I like the fact that they are independently working on the areas that I want them to work on. They like the teacher input, as it gives them confidence to know they have covered the trickier areas, they also like that the teacher input is a small proportion of the lesson (around 10 minutes).
(I have also set this as cover for an absent teacher and just left out the teacher input.)
During the lesson I am able to circulate the room and support students as the need arises. I am also able to spend quality time with my target students and any students that the QLA data shows need support with this particular topic.
Students can finish any remaining questions at home.
The revision booklet includes:
• Exam specification points
• Multiple choice questions- to jog student’s memories
• Core knowledge revision material- allowing students to ensure they have the essential knowledge for the topic
• Knowledge questions- testing students ability to recall the core knowledge and use it to answer questions
• Answers to the knowledge questions- allowing students to self-mark and move on at their own pace
• Whole class revision- A teacher led section to cover some of the more difficult areas of the topic, or some of the really common questions asked by the exam board
Included free of charge:
• Exam questions- from Edexcel exam wizard, tidied up into a more student friendly format
• Mark scheme- from Edexcel exam wizard, tidied up into a more student friendly format
