Teaching Suggestions
•Show your students images of different objects.
•Next to each word is a list of three ‘banned’ words
•Children must describe the object without using any of the given words.
•There is a 2-minute timer on each page to add some excitement to the activity.
•NO HAND GESTURES OR MIMING ALLOWED
•This can be played in teams, or with single players.
•Ideal for use with second language learners, to encourage using a wider vocabulary and to speak clearly and succinctly to the group.
•This makes for a perfect lesson filler, introductory ice breaker or as a brain break in your classes.
•You have been provided with a PDF and PowerPoint version of the game so that it can be printed off onto cards and used for individual students to look at yet hide from their peers.
•The PowerPoint version can be used on a variety of devices or on the IWB. ( the rest of the class need to turn away from the board while the image of the object is shown). Students can then click on the timer which is the prompt for the rest of the class to turn around and begin guessing what the object may be from the clues given by the student chosen to be the ‘describer’.
