A worksheet that examines the electrical resistance of:

  • Thermistors at different temperatures,
  • Light-Dependent Resistors (LDRs) at different light levels.

The current-potential difference (current-voltage, I-R) graph for a thermistor at three different temperatures is analysed through structured questioning. Resistance is calculated using Ohm’s Law.

Data of resistances at varying temperatures for a thermistor is presented and students are asked to plot the graph and describe the pattern shown.

A plotted graph of resistances for varying light levels for an LDR is presented and students are asked to draw a line of best fit and describe the pattern shown.
