A complete scheme of work to teach the Metaphysical poems from the Edexcel English Literature spec. There are 17 lessons in total, including a context lesson, assessment lesson, and mock exam prep lesson.
All poems are in the powerpoint. There is a lesson on overall context, as well as key context for each poet in relevant lessons.
Each lesson has homework questions to prep students for the poem in the next lesson. These, as well as the main tasks, will allow the poems to be analysed in detail, with oppportunities for evaluative discussions.
