I have used this with a child with ASD who was showing challenging behaviour that was leading to being restrained a lot and once the child was a bit calmer he would still want you to hold him so I decided it was because he need skin on skin contact but didn't no how to ask. The child's behaviour altered very quickly. Visual aids that ask for what the child wants without saying it are extremely useful and can make such a change for them.
