This entry / starter activity allows extension into some interesting mechanics type work which can be solved in different ways. Comments on this are under the slides in the powerpoint - there is an M1 starter activity too. I am intending to use this as a taster of post 16 maths for Higher GCSE students. These are part of the 2012 Olympics Maths resources contained in three files in my resources area. Regularly updated - an excel file has also been updated that you could search for relevant files without downloading everything!
