Marksmith Pro is a fast rubric-marking toolkit I built to deliver clear, consistent feedback while saving time. Using KS4-style rubrics at KS3, it makes success criteria explicit so students can self-assess, understand “what good looks like”, and build real independence lesson after lesson. Shared templates and consistent descriptors keep language aligned across classes, while tidy PDF/print exports streamline hand-back and reflection, we spend more time teaching and less time administrating.
I made this PDF guide to get you up and running with Marksmith Pro in minutes. I walk through adding your classes, projects, and comment banks. It’s a friendly 5–10 minute guide: how to organise the app folder and where to put your descriptor/comment JSON files. I’ve also included quick fixes for common snags (can’t launch, files not appearing, export hiccups) so you can get marking on Windows 10/11 without the faff.
