Find a small difference in lengths (three days).
Children make pairs of ‘snakes’ of cubes with a difference in length of two cubes. They make their own pairs of playdough snakes, measure these using bead strings, and find the difference in their lengths. Money lines are used to help find the difference between prices, and children also discuss how much more money is needed to buy something costing 20p.
