MFL Chinese New Year Bundle (FR/GE/IT/SP/EN)

This set of three-page language activity worksheets in French, German, Italian, Spanish and English explores the origins and traditions of Chinese New Year, including how it is celebrated by communities in the respective target language countries. It aims to equip students with the vocabulary and structures to talk about the festival itself, as well as wider themes of celebration.

The worksheet layout comprises four short texts along with comprehension questions and glossaries of key words for each. A third page includes vocabulary exercises to consolidate new words.

The language level is around A2 on the CEFR scale (ideal for a proficient Year 7 and Years 8/9), designed to encourage gist-reading longer texts.

In terms of language topic link-ups, the vocabulary in the worksheet feeds well into Food and Drink, Friends and Family and Special Occasions.
