This is a topic students know lots about already from the news, anniversary memorials etc so I start the lesson with students asking questions about concentration camps to clarify any misconceptions.

I then show students a range of images I took from my visit to Auschwitz to show the remains of the camp - helps make the story more real for students.

Students then look at a range of sources related to the topic - Students will then consider - ) If they could only use three of the cards to inform someone about the Final solution and the camp conditions which would they use? Using the PEE structure, they will outline which 3 and why

To end the lesson, I show students a map of Europe with the countries under German control and consider - What can we learn from this map about the potential scale of the Final Solution?
