Noah counted the legs of some of the animals entering the ark. He counted 12 - how many creatures did he see?

Children find this activity funny, adding to the enjoyment. It allows them to practise counting and to record findings in different ways. There are many different correct answers to this problem. Learners will need to keep track of their progress, readjusting as they apporach 12.
Cross curricular links can be made to the biblical story. Considering creatures with different numbers of legs, such as slugs (one) or snakes (zero), is great fun and provokes interesting responses.
