Angles, Angles in Circles
Key Stage: 3 ★

Using the interactivity, you can make triangles using rubber bands and the circular pegboard. What are the angles in your triangle?

This problem challenges students to apply what they know about angles in triangles. The nine-peg circle allows students to concentrate on the geometrical structure without having to worry about the arithmetic. It can serve as the start of the journey towards circle theorems.

This resource has comprehensive teachers' notes and resources, linked from the problem page. This includes possible approaches and key questions, as well as possible support and extensions.

A very useful and interactive lesson on triangles within circles. Based on the peg and elastic band idea, it allows pupils to place an elastic band over 3 pegs and to work out the angles in the triangles they make. A very nice idea for an investigation lesson into the angles in a triangle. Comes with teacher notes and full solutions.
