I use this to get pupils doing some speaking practice on home & environment before doing a controlled assessment. Depending what stage they're at, I let them use their books or say they have to do it without. Pupils can peer assess each others' answers using the CA marking criteria (or a simplified version of it) or give each other points for use of different tenses, connectives etc.
