This Task was developed work with the novel study Trash, but it could be used with any novel study that involves real world issues.
This assessment task asks students to compose a formal Letter to the Editor of the their local Newspaper. The aim is to persuade your the reading audience about a particular issue you feel strongly about that relates to the novel Trash.
Students are presented with 9 different topics and could also choose their own.
Included ; Task with details, a persuasive writing template (scaffold) for students, terminology handout for persuasive writing , a letter example and the marking criteria (Naplan Marking Criteria was used).
