This worksheet is great for pupils to practice their punctuation skills. This worksheet lets pupils add in capital letters, full stops, commas and other punctuation marks. The 5 activities are aimed to ensure engagement levels are steady.

Activity 1: The Case for Capital Letters Capital letters are needed for the start of sentences, the pronoun “I”, and proper nouns (names of people, specific places, days, months, and brands). Rewrite the sentences below, adding capital letters exactly where they are needed.

Activity 2: Finding the Finish Line (Full Stops) A common mistake is writing one long sentence without any breaks. Read the paragraph below. It is completely missing full stops! Add a full stop at the end of each complete idea, and highlight each letter that should be a capital letter.

Activity 3: The Calming Comma Commas give the reader a short pause to breathe and help separate ideas so the sentence makes sense. Add commas to the sentences below where they are missing. Use a different colour to add the commas.

Activity 4: The Diary Decoder (Capitals and Full Stops) When we text or write quickly, it is easy to let punctuation slide. The diary entry below was written in a rush and is completely missing its capital letters and full stops!

Activity 5: The Ultimate Mix This is the final challenge. The sentences below contain multiple errors involving capital letters, full stops, commas, and apostrophes. Rewrite them with perfect punctuation.
