Sample Math Pyramid Challenge

Presentation designed for use as an enjoyable starter or plenary in upper KS2 or lower KS3. Presentation also contains printer friendly templates and tasks which could be used in a cover lesson or as a homework/extension activity. There are 16 different challenges which are numbered in order of increasing difficulty (based on pupil feedback) All 16 challenges follow the same format and structure in that students are required to use basic arithmetic skills to deduce the “golden” number at the apex of the pyramid.
Hyperlinks are embedded throughout for ease navigation and the presentation has the potential to used as a teacher directed learning activity or pupils can use preprinted templates to work individually or in groups.
