Shortcrust Pastry Task. Developed for Year 9 to make simple pastry products, achievable in a 1hr lesson. During the demonstration they are shown tarts, turnovers, baking blind, and Russian Pie shaping. I sometimes ask 2 pupils to do the demonstration, one rubbing-in by hand and the other using the food-processor. The red photographs were downloaded from www.nutrition.org.uk.
