SPAG ent and ant suffixes / apostrophes activity KS2

Activity worksheet for KS2 learners - suffixes (-ent and -ant) and an apostrophes task.

My Year 5 class completed the sheet in pairs (I wrote 'teachers marking comment' so I could photocopy and save marking!)

Activity: Highlight the prefixes which are already words without having to add a suffix.

Challenge: Use a dictionary
or a thesaurus to find if these
words should end in 'ent' or 'ant'. What
do you notice? How does the prefix make a difference?

Extension: Write an alliterative poem using the words above about children
on your table.

I use the apostrophe sheet with some groups and spelling task with others, but this could be printed double-sided to keep your class busy!
