Three ceremonies from three different religions illustrate the cycle of life, in ‘KS2 Re for Pupils’, observing ceremonies and speaking to participants.
In Birth, Hindu’s, Arun and Anita, invite the camera to the naming ceremony of their new daughter. In Marriage, Rabbi Charing officiates at the wedding of Gaynor and Stephen. He explains the Bedekan ceremony, where the groom checks under the veil to make sure he is marrying the right person.
Finally, in Death, Reverend Tom Maidment conducts a funeral service for Kathleen, an elderly lady who led a full and happy life.
