Floods in the catchment areas of coastal rivers along Eastern Australia are not uncommon. The Brisbane River has a record of flooding. February-March of 2022 would prove to be the year of record flood levels. They were months of extreme rainfall over the Brisbane River catchment and the Brisbane River Valley. It kept raining and the waters over-banked river channels and spread onto low-lying floodplain areas. Find out what caused this period of excessive water. Look at the photographs to understand impact. Understand why recovery will take a long time.
