A great transition activity to complete when meeting a new class for the first time, or as a first week back to school activity.

Children have to write a postcard to their future selves. In it, they set some goals for the academic year, and they write about their hopes and dreams for the future.

Keep the postcards in a safe place in the classroom, ideally displayed somewhere in a box/envelope so that children are regularly reminded about their goals. Then, on the last day of the year, give the postcards back to the children and allow them to read them back. They will be able to reflect on their goals and hopefully they will be proud of themselves for what they have achieved!

Includes PowerPoint presentation, prompt sheets for table tasks and postcard template.
