Word lists 1,2,3 & 4 from Step-by-Step: Build it, read it, spell it (5-7)

These word list workbooks cover some of the common exception words for Year 1 and 2 from the NC English Spelling Appendix. They extend spelling practice by modelling building longer words using the suffixes from Year 1 and 2.

The formats provide a small-steps ‘Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check’ method including sentence reading and a visual cue. Together, this provides a strong multisensory spelling approach especially with these tricky words that vary from phonic rules.

Useful for classroom-based practice or home learning and consolidation, the design is clearly laid out for parents and/or teaching assistants to follow.
