UKS2 Literacy - Bundle of 10 World War II Reading Comprehension Activities

A World War 2 reading comprehension activity bundle with ten reading passages that timeline the war. Each activity has an informational text with comprehension and grammar questions followed by an extension task, wordsearch and crossword puzzle. The NO PREP worksheets are perfect for students in Year 5 or Year 6. Students will learn about key areas of World War II whilst developing their comprehension skills.

This bundle contains the following reading comprehension activities:
1 – The Outbreak of War in Europe
2 – World War II (Overview)
3 – Dunkirk and The Battle of Britain
4 – The Blitz
5 – The Eastern Front
6 – The Attack on Pearl Harbor
7 – The Battle of Midway
8 – The Holocaust
9 – The Surrender of the Axis Powers in Europe / VE Day
10 – The Atomic Bombs and Japan’s Surrender / VJ Day

Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.

Time allowance ( one hour) for each activity:
5 minutes - read through the text individually.
40 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)
15 minutes - Teacher and students go through the text and answers.
