This beautifully illustrated book tells tales from Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey, relating the adventures of the legendary hero Odysseus as he returns home to his kingdom Ithaca after the Trojan War. As Odysseus fights to find his way back home after the long and brutal Trojan War, he has to endure harrowing ordeals and adventures, and come to terms with devastating losses.
The stories are skilfully told by two renowned storytellers and can be enjoyed separately or as part of a sequence. The teaching sequence focuses on some of the stories in more detail. Children will enjoy the exciting narratives and the stories provide the opportunity to explore powerful themes such as good and evil; temptation, fantasy, truth, identity and heroism.
