A tried and tested 8-Lesson Unit of Work on practical ensemble percussion for Year 7, ideal for the beginning of the Year when introducing Year 7 to rhythm notation. An adaptable and ambitious, yet scaffolded, resource with a minimal equipment requirement (can be done with clapping if needed) and a focus entirely on the practical side of ensemble performance.

Some prior knowledge required, though this could easily be added into the first do-now task.

Optional Equipment Requirement: Drums [Djembe/Samba] or None (Clapping); Metronome.
