#### Tutor Time Resource Pack

A selection of resources based on Daily Tutor Time (from Wise Ark Ltd) which covers a range of challenges and activities etc. (Most resources are supplied as power point and word document files ‘On this Day’: For each day there are four events whose anniversary is on that date (each day includes one birth and one death) Discussion points (Vol 1): A resource to encourage purposeful talk by giving a focus for a discussion, a set of 80 different stimuli. Knowledge challenges – links, lists and odd one out. A collection of three different types of factual challenges (40 in all) which require students (or adults!) to: Work out the link between people/places/events etc. and work out the next in the sequence; List the contents of a specific category (such as police ranks); Decide which is the odd one out of a group of people/events etc. and justify their choice Knowledge challenges – matching pairs: A set of 20 factual challenges) to match up the correct pairs. Knowledge challenges – sorting: A set of 20 factual challenges to sort a series of events or people into the correct order. Letter and number puzzles: A test of (general) knowledge with a numerical focus -each question (100) in all is about a fact that contains a number. For example ‘5 V in the A’ is 5 vowels in the alphabet. Memory test: Each slide (of thirty) shows ten (related) pictures which students have to memorise and then recall. Number puzzles: A collection of a range of different number puzzles, There are over 50 different challenges of four main types – calculation conundrums, calculations to follow mentally, basic algebra (again suitable for working out mentally) and number sequences. There is also an assortment of other challenges including number grids (like a micro Sudoku). Observation challenges – odd one out &amp; spot the differences: A set of 40 observation challenges which require careful study of images. There are twenty sets of three pictures -work out which is the odd one out- and twenty sets of two pictures to spot the differences between. There are twenty images which have been digitally distorted and twenty which have been ‘cut up’ into pieces.

#### History Bingo Sheets and Questions (Trivia/Game)

Do you need a fun way to engage your students in your History classroom? Do your students love trivia? Do you want a fun way to encourage student participation? Or do you just need a bit of fun? This set of twenty-five individual bingo sheets and questions (with answers) is a great, ready to go way of making History fun with your primary and high school students. Just print out the sheets, read off the questions and if the students have the corresponding question and are able to answer it correctly they can stamp it off. When they have stamped all their questions they call out BINGO. My kids love Bingo and this way you just need to print off the sheets! I hope you enjoy them.

#### Into Archive Film

This pack provides worksheets and activities for members to analyse stills and clips from any archive film or photograph. The activities will help young people to develop their personal analysis and interpretation of primary sources in addition to creating their own texts inspired by the archive footage. About 14-18 NOW 14-18 NOW is a five-year programme of extraordinary arts experiences connecting people with the First World War. Working with partners all across the UK, we commission new artworks from leading contemporary artists, musicians, designers and performers, inspired by the period 1914-18. These new artworks bring stories of the First World War to life, offer fresh perspectives and connect a global conflict from 100 years ago with our world today. So far more than 30 million people have experienced our programme. 14-18 NOW is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England, by the DCMS. Into Film and 14–18 NOW are delighted to be collaborating on the creation of activities to deepen students’ engagement in history through archive film.

#### The Drover's Wife

Henry Lawson’s classic short story, The Drover’s Wife. Students read and discuss the story as a class and then draw a picture of a scene from the story, including incorporating elements that create the appropriate atmosphere.
