This resource has been made for teaching assistants working with weaker swimmers within a whole group set-up. The plans are two individuals lesson. One lesson is aimed at a student with a fear of submerging their head under water and working around this to develop their water confidence.
The other lesson deals with students who have more confidence in the water. Both lessons can work well over a swimming block with progressions looking at technique refinement and increasing distance. Both lessons follow a whole stroke approach.

This resource is ideal for Primary Schools or SEN specialist school. It includes an outline of the plan of the day and ideas for delivering the competitions.
Pupils across the school will be split into two teams (northern hemisphere or southern hemisphere).
Pupils will compete in their respective teams across the school to accrue points and prizes. Competitions using cross-curricular subjects will happen throughout the competition day. Subjects covered are: healthy living, Art, Music and DT/Science. The competitions have been differentiated for pupils from different age groups.
