This is lesson 2 in the Evil and suffering unit This lesson explores the nature of God from both the Cristian and Islamic faith. It also includes an opportunity for extended writing and peers assessment. This Lesson is differentiated for students and includes a variety of tasks where students can reach their outcomes. Tasks in red are compulsory I would then suggest that students do the coloured tasks that they find challenging for them e.g. if a student find the blue tasks most challenging then they can only do them tasks. The link to the video for slide 4 is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSZiUDgKzAU however any video showing the story of Moses can be used .

Why does God allow suffering ?

This lesson explores why God allows suffering to happen and looks at various reason reasons such as the story of job and soul making. This lesson was planned for KS3 (year9)m however there are overlaps between the lesson and the GCSE content and includes an exam style question at the end of the lesson. There is a document on Freewill included in the files, this can be given as homework before students complete the exam question or can be included as part of the lesson. This Lesson is differentiated for students and includes a variety of tasks where students can reach their outcomes. Tasks in red are compulsory I would then suggest that students do the coloured tasks that they find challenging for them e.g. if a student find the blue tasks most challenging then they can only do them tasks. I have used two resources from the bible society the links are below: Slide 5- Card sort https://educationresources.biblesociety.org.uk/common/pdf/ks3/CEV/Suffering/suffering cards.pdf Slide 6 -story of Job https://educationresources.biblesociety.org.uk/common/pdf/eduqas/eduqas6.pdf
