Descriptive Writing Scheme of Work/Unit of Work.
Scheme of work focuses on skills needed throughout Creative Writing:
Lesson 1: The 5 Senses, describing a well known place
Lesson 2: Describing an image in detail – Zooming in.
Lesson 3: Similes and Metaphors
Lesson 4: Show Not Tell
Lesson 5: POV - Inanimate Object
Lesson 6: Circular Description
Lesson 7: Freeze Frame
Lesson 8: Assessment Lesson
This set includes full powerpoints with learning outcomes and all the activity sheets needed saved as PDF's.
I used this scheme of work with both a Year 8 and Year 9 set. They loved the different activities and the images.
