I created this lesson for an interview observation with a Year 5 class. It could very easily be adapted but would work best in KS2. It includes a drama and description activity which allows the children the consider key characters from the story. It went very well and is a great lesson to draw discussion from the children!

A lesson which could be used in Year 4,5 or 6 depending on the ability of the children involved. Clearly differentiated and easily adaptable the lesson requires some prior knowledge of the use of an Anderson shelter and has cross curricular links between Science and History.

This KS2 resourse is an ideal introduction/ revision task to help children understand the correct use of articles.

I have included some lesson notes in the download but this resource could be used in Year 4,5 and 6 comfortably and is easily adaptable. The letters from Van Gogh are all over the internet and depending on the ability of the children you could pick and choose as this is more about the skill of making connections and/or reciprocal reading within a group.

This lesson plan could work across KS2 with some adaptations. The lesson integrates drama and writing to boost the children's ideas and is clearly differentiated. The letter is written from Williams perspective and allows the children to be creative and express their ideas and understanding of the story.

A lesson which includes 'thinking aloud' when reading an extract. Ideal for KS2 and easily adaptable. The children enjoyed this lesson, could easily include some drama and costume as well.

Ideal for Year 3 or 4! I have created a table which challenges children to answer questions linked to multiplication, division, halving and a mix. All the questions link to the Number 2. For example 8 x 2 = 1 of 30 = 32÷2= 2 The table also includes a Challenge column which has some questions and areas for the children to create their own questions. Could be used as RAP activity, within a lesson or as homework!! A very useful activity, which could even be timed.

This lesson is aimed at KS2 but could be easily adapted to work with lower KS3 children. I have included a lesson plan, PPT and information sheet. The photographs used are my own from a visit to the reef. It’s perfect for developing argument/ persuasion skills and would work as a cross-curricular lesson really well.
