I'm a French, German and English teacher and love creating useful resources for my students to use in the classroom, as well as for homework tasks, to help them love languages and develop their language skills at the same time. I enjoy sharing these resources with other teachers. Some of my language resources are free, but as they take me a long time to make, I do charge a small fee for my some of them. I hope you enjoy using my MFL resources in your language classroom!

MFL Writing and Speaking Feedback Grid

Progress Ladder Feedback Grid for KS3 and GCSE Writing and Speaking for the 9-1 GCSE in French, German and Spanish I have created this Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 writing and speaking marking feedback grid for the new AQA 9-1 GCSE and use it with general or assessed pieces of French, German and Spanish work. The grid is linked to a progress ladder that we use in school, which shows the elements students are required to include to progress from grades 1-9 in the two skills in these subjects. My school has been using it since October and I have found that it has really sped up my marking time. I circle elements that students haven’t included and they must refer back to it before completing their next piece of written or spoken work. I also insist that my students learn these elements by heart in order and they have done this, which is definitely helping with an improvement in grades. Hopefully it’s useful to you all as well! PLEASE REVIEW IF IT’S HELPFUL TO YOU!

Get your students to tune their ears to the French language with the list of awesome French listening websites, perfect for GCSE French homework, or to use in snippets during French GCSE lessons. There is a short description of each website and links included. I shared with my students on Google Classroom and advised them to even just do fifteen minutes 2-3 times per week.

Ich bin online Quiz Quiz Trade Style

Having never used Quiz Quiz Trade cards before, I did a quick HOW TO Google search today, modified the layout slightly and made my first ever (simple) resource! It’s targeted at year 7 German to go with Stimmt 1 Kapitel 3 for questioning and speaking. There is an Excel and Word Document available in case you need to edit or add more easily. Instructions: Word Doc Print the document and slice along each row (might need to duplicate for a bigger class) Give one each to students and ask them to fold the German section over. Students walk around and say the question to another student in TL (with or without looking at questions for differentiation) If the partner doesn’t understand they can ask for the question to be repeated/the German version to be shown/the English version to be shown, but they must answer in German as best as they can. If the person asking the questions believes they have replied correctly, repeat step 3 and 4 with the other person asking their question. If this partner answers correctly, swap cards physically over, move around and repeat steps 3-5 with someone else. Feel free to modify and use however you like. This is just how I’m using it.
