Wellesley Haddon Dene School is a leading independent, co-educational prep school for boys and girls aged from 2 to 13 years, situated in the seaside town of Broadstairs.

The school has a long and rich history. Its many well-known former pupils have found eminence in many fields and include photographer Patrick Litchfield, industrialist Sir Jocelyn Stephens, General Sir Peter de Billiere, Oxford Professor of History Sir Hew Strachan and the Duke of Gloucester.  More recent alumni include Sam Northeast, the current captain of Kent cricket, showjumper William Fox-Pitt and Nick Bateman from ‘Big Brother’!

Pupils who leave Wellesley move on at 13+ to a wide range of UK schools with many going on to schools such as Eton, Harrow, Tonbridge, Benenden and King’s Canterbury.  In the last five years, 47 academic, all-rounder, music, sports, art and DT awards have been made by senior schools to our pupils. Major academic awards in the last 5 years include awards to Harrow, King’s Canterbury and Eton. For many years, our pupils have had 100% success at Common Entrance.
