Engaging 1 hour lesson on implicit vs explicit language skills, packed with clear examples, WAGOLL’s, and a strong plenary to build confidence.

This lesson directly supports both the implicit and explicit GCSE English Language assessment objectives. Teaching students to identify and analyse how meaning is conveyed (implicit) while also developing their ability to comment on language, structure, and writer’s methods using accurate terminology (explicit). Students practise inferring ideas and understanding writer intentions, reading critically and interpreting texts.
