A grade Higher English level critical essay on Janice Galloway’s novel ‘The Trick Is To Keep Breathing’. Comparisons are made between the concerns/narrative style of the novel and those of Sylvia Plath’s ‘Tulips’ poem.
The essay question chosen was:
“Choose a novel or short story which deals with true love, unrequited love or love betrayed. Discuss the writer’s exploration of the theme and show to what extent it conveys a powerful message about the nature of love”.
