Two, five lesson PowerPoints for AQA English Language Paper 1 and Paper 2 - Section A.
Paper 1
Uses The Hound of the Baskervilles extract to develop student understanding of Q1-4. Each question is broken down and students are taken through each question step by step using '3 is the magic' number to approach each question. All lessons can be adapted to suit a range of learners.
Paper 2 Section A
Uses Touching the Void and An Interview with Sir Edmund Hilary to take students through Q1-4 of Paper 2. Questions 1-3 are broken down step by step whilst Q4 encourages students to evaluate the use of methods for posters before independently identifying and working on the methods for the extracts.
Paper 1 Section A Progress Tasks
Uses the opening of chapter 5 to test student skill acquisition after Paper 1 Section A materials. These Progress Tasks could also be adapted into similar lessons if they are not required as Progress Tasks
Each PowerPoint contains Progress Counters, which allow teachers and students to track progress towards securing each of the AOs relevant to Language (reading). Opportunities to record Self/Peer and Verbal feedback are available as well as written responses. This allows students to take independent control of their own learning or for teacher to use as a Personal Learning Checklist record.
