A Jack and the Beanstalk doubles activity! Children draw leaves, make doubles, and write number sentences to build reasoning and mental maths skills.
Bring maths to life with this Beanstalk Doubles Maths Activity Pack, inspired by the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. This engaging resource helps children understand doubling by drawing the matching number of leaves on each beanstalk and writing the corresponding double number sentence.
The activity is differentiated three ways to support all learners:
Above Expected – doubles up to 6 + 6
Expected – doubles up to 5 + 5
Below Expected – doubles up to 4 + 4
Each sheet also includes a differentiated word problem where children must reason and work out how many beans Jack would have if he has half the amount in front of him, supporting reasoning skills, mental strategies, and mathematical thinking.
This resource is perfect for linking to Jack and the Beanstalk, planting topics, or growing themes, and can be used as an independent provision task or an adult-led maths activity.
